How is your Pool Treated
We have a saltwater pool.
Saltwater pools use the process of electrolysis to purify the water. Pool salt is poured into the water, and the electrolyzer is connected to the pool’s filtration circuit. The salt disinfects the water as it passes through the electrolyzer, which turns it into active and natural chlorine. We maintain this level at less than 3ppm.
Better for health - Because saltwater pools are more natural, there are fewer health disadvantages than with traditional chlorine pools. The salt is odorless and also comes with fewer risks for allergies and irritation to your eyes and skin. Many people think of the ocean when they imagine saltwater pools, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Saltwater pools only have about 1/10 of the salinity of the ocean.
WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE CHLORINE - this is due to people using the pool - a byproduct of the chlorine chemicals with natural skin chemical and oxygen in the air.
What temperature is the water
Approximately 27 degrees - the air temperature is held at 2 degrees warmer to reduce water loss into the air
Do you have any joining fees
We have a small direct debit set up fee, and a small charge for our access fob, that’s it! All other charges are detailed on the membership tab.
Can I share a membership with my partner or children
We do allow you to share a concession card with your significant others, but these all need to report to reception to ensure the correct entries are deducted from your account.
Can I suspend my membership
Yes – fixed term memberships (i.e. paid in full) will add the suspension term to the end of the membership, flexi/ongoing memberships cease payments for the period of suspension and then charge a pro-rata rate prior to starting back up. Please give us enough warning in writing in order to apply the suspension before your next payment. If you don’t hear from us we may not have received your email, so please check.
What is your minimum term
We understand things change, so we try to keep all our memberships as flexible as possible. Our minimum term is 8 months, you may cancel during this time, but you will be asked to pay the minimum of $150 or the remainder of your minimum term. We do require 2 weeks notice to cancel or suspend your account, this enables us to allow for weekends, payments halfway through being processed etc.
Are you open on Statutory holidays
Yes, we are usually open 7 am till 7 pm every Statutory/Public Holiday, with the exception of Christmas day, Boxing day, New Years day, and the day after New Years day when we are closed to give our hard-working team a break, and spend time with our families.
Can I visit casually without a membership
Yes, you can, just pay at reception with eftpos or cash on arrival. Swim caps are compulsory in the pool, and towels are compulsory for wiping down equipment in the gym. Towels can be hired from reception for $3. For further pricing information please refer to the memberships page.
Do you have a stair climber
Yes we do!
Do you have a Sauna
No Sorry - however give Hot Yoga a try :)
Do you have group fitness classes
Yes, we have a variety to choose from, in both the Gym and the Pool. Please refer to the Group Training schedule on the Gym & Pool page for further details. We ask that all classes are booked so that spaces are reserved and if a last minute trainer illness occurs we can let you know if the class has to be cancelled.
Do I need to get a program or assessment when I join
No, but all new members will get an induction/tour of the facility for health & safety purposes, and you can book a free assessment and program or personal training from that point onwards.
Can I hire a pool lane for myself
Yes – but we charge a per hour rate, on top of your usual membership or entry fee. Please contact email@example.com for lane hire queries.
Do you have corporate deals
Yes – we can set up a group membership deal for you if your company/group doesn’t already have one. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to find out all our options.
Can I set up an account at Feedzone as I dont bring my wallet to the facility
Yes absolutely, this is called Store Credit – you can add to your store credit via our online shop, by purchasing vouchers. All purchases at Feedzone by members also generate loyalty points which can be used to buy more Feedzone food or drinks! Concession card holders are welcome to set up store credit too.
Is your facility environmentally friendly
We use Ecoware containers in our cafe, these are produced sustainably and are made from plants, not chemicals. They do however need to be commercially composted to be truly effective, they break down under high temperatures so can’t be washed and reused.
We are allow keep containers for salads, and we welcome your own “keep cups”.
We have self-propelled treadmills and hill climbers, and we collect rainwater from the roof to use again in the toilets.The pool is heated with the latest technology to minimise power and gas usage.
The large windows in the gym are able to be opened to allow fresh air as opposed to air conditioning when the air is cool outside.
